Width
If the hood will be placed between your kitchen cabinets, simply measure the distance between them.
Note on Hood Measurements:
“If your opening space is 36”, keep in mind that your hood will measure 36” including the trim. You can also choose a model without trim.”

Decide on the height of the hood that works best for your kitchen.
How to Choose the Right Hood Height:
• Distance from stovetop to hood:
• Electric stoves: 24–30 inches.
• Gas stoves: 30–36 inches.
• Hood height recommendations:
• For 8-ft ceilings: 30–36”.
• For 9+ ft ceilings: choose a model with an extension option.
